All-Abilities Family Skate Day – A Special Purpose

A Special Purpose is excited to host all-abilities family skate day at WeStreet Ice Center! We are offering free registration for 50 skaters from the special needs community to have fun on the ice January 19th from 3-4pm. The ice center will provide skate helpers for beginners to use on the ice and hockey sleds (older kids/adults) for those that need to sit to glide on the ice. Wheel chairs assisted by a skate coach are welcome in the ice rink.

All-Abilities Ice Skating

A Special Purpose will have a sensory area near the ice rink for skaters to take a break when needed. There will also be skate coaches (volunteer buddies) to help skaters. Remember to bring a helmet (ex. bike helmet) and any other safety gear you may need to stay injury free, should a fall occur. We are not leaving anyone out. Siblings and parents are welcome to skate too! Skating is free. Concessions will be available for purchase.

WeStreet Ice Center

The Ice Center is located at 4143 South Yale Ave. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We anticipate registration to fill up fast. If you have registered and find you will not be able to come, please email us at info@aspecialpurpose.org to let us know. See you on the ice!

Event Liability Waiver *

Assumption of Risk: I understand that ice skating, whether recreational or instructional, involves certain inherent risks, hazards, and dangers that can result in serious injury or death. These risks include, but are not limited to: falls, collisions with other skaters or objects, ice surface imperfections, skate blade injuries, and physical strain. I voluntarily choose to participate in ice skating activities with full knowledge of these risks. In consideration for being permitted to use the ice skating rink and its facilities, I hereby release, waive, and discharge WeStreet Ice Center/Tulsa Oilers/A Special Purpose, its owners, employees, instructors, volunteers, and affiliates (the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses sustained during or relating to my participation in ice skating activities, whether caused by negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from my participation in ice skating activities. I certify that I am physically capable of participating in ice skating activities and have no medical conditions that would increase my risk of injury. I agree to follow all posted rules, instructions, and safety guidelines.
